Question To bp or not to bp? this is the question?

I am looking at buying a bp 1.8 for my 97 protege but before I do I was wondering a couple of things? Is this a good motor to build on with excessible bolt ons? I was looking at a kl-ze swap but would this bp be better? There is no ECU and the harness is cut? Any comments would be appreciated and welcome. Thanx a newbie.....

a bp is always a good idea ...the only problem is getting stuff to fit yor 2nd gen. Most of the aftermarket stuff available is made for a 1st gen. But with some creativity and some custom work, i'm sure you could do some fun things....even a turbo. An aftermarket ecu is expensive (Haltech, etc) but would be worth it if you could afford it. a KL-ZE might be an even better swap since putting it in gives you 200 horses right away - BUT it may be a lot more complex in a 2nd gen. i don't know if anyones tried it in a 2nd gen....

The BP is a direct bolt on, all you'll have to change is the computer.. YOu can also get a turbo for the BP...

The Kl-Ze will not fit without alot of custom work.....
Try duin a search, i believe this was talked about somewhere..
