My "check engine" light came one the other day. How do I get a code from the computer and where do i get a list of what the codes mean?

 

I think i read your thread...I am planning on checking the plugs, fluids, and any possible loose connectors. I was hoping there was some way to get a code from the computer myself....Oh and this is not my car, its actually my friends.
