Wobbly Shifter ?

Hey I had another name on this board but didn't remember what it was. Haven't been here in a while.

Anyway, my shifter in my 91 Pro LX(1.8) is loose and wobbling all over the place. I have no problem shifting through the gears but wanted to know if this was a serious issue and if there was an easy way to repair it. Is it as easy as say changing the bushings or changing in a short shifter? Please help.
Thanks
TG
