windshield wipers

does anyone else have problems with the windshield wipers pushing water into the car when the window is open? it was raining today(rain in march in minnesota? huh?) and i had my window open a bit so i could smoke, but as the driver side wiper pushed the rain off the window, it pushed it to the side of the windshield, then the rain came over the a-pillar and dropped on to the inside of the door by the door handle. anyone know a fix for this or how to prevent it?

Quit smoking, that'll solve the problem . Seriously tho, both my Escort and my P5 do this. I've seen some cars that have "ear" like objects about half way up the A-piller mounted to the door. I'm not sure if it's purpose would be to more or less deflect water tho. Aside from either that or visors, I'm not sure how to prevent the water from coming in.

Thats what I was going to say...

I had vent shades on my pro for a while (Untill some bastard broke one off while trying to break into my car) they worked really good for letting air in while it was raining, you could crack your windows about 1 1/2" and no rain would come in. Plenty of room for your smoke to escape.

Yeah quite a few cars actually do that.........I have the same problem while smoking. I was gonna get those visors, but i think they're kinda stupid looking just imo. But if i didn't care i'd definately buy 'em my dad has some on his his truck ( oh i don't think they look dumb on trucks just cars heh) and they work great.

It's cause they don't have any actual rain gutters on the door.
