Water in trunk

I am assuming your car has a sunroof also?? If so, that's where the water's coming from. For the time being, I popped one of the drain grommets out so the water can drain out.

Water in the trunk would not be caused by the sunroof. all the 1st gens have this problem that i know if. it right by the JACK mounts and JACK in the trunk. There is a small leak on the gasket for the trunk lid, and somwhere else...im tryin to find the other spot where the water comes in at.

I only see water in my trunk when it POORS down raining and/or when i was my car with alot of water. Other than that...its pretty dry.

Its not like the trunk floods...if it does u got a problem with ur car.

Thats to my knowledge

Yeah, but you also didn't get much sun, or weather extremes to dry out the gasket, which is what causes the problems.

Now that you are in an area with a winter... and a summer, those things should start leaking soon.

naw...apparently the main culprit is the seals from the taillights...you have to either replace the gasket, or tighten the nuts securing the taillight.

one way to tell is to have someone spray the hose all over the trunk, while your laying down in the trunk looking for leaks.....;0
Note: YOU MAY GET WET!!!!!!

lol

i had water problems also in trunk figured it out thoguh

i was constantly looking i sealed somthing else off then another thing ,,,so finally with asistanse my friend blasted my trunk and rear window and what do ya know my rear window gasket seal rotted out so the easy solution to getting it fixed was to break your window lol just a suggestion

I sealed my taillights with silicone and it stopped leaking... In tightening the bolts I stripped some of them right out of the plastic, which sucked big time.... Silicone works, but does'nt look great... Even if you do a perfectly clean job (which I did, of course!) The silicone gets dirty cuz it's sticky... Whatever, it's better than rust or a wet sound system!
