Stereo Wiring Harness

Hey guys i would really like to know what color wires to hook up to aftermarket wires. i figured out the speakers but everytime i take out the key the memory resets. any chance u guys know which is the memory wires?

memory wires?? sounds like you have a power issue. maybe the eletrical power is getting shut off to your radio??

how can i fix that? what i meant was if it was playing on track 4 and i shut the car off and take the key out it starts back at track 1 and the radio presets reset.

and can u please tell me which speaker wire colors to hook up to aftermarket speaker colors.

i got the speaker figured out but the wire that i dont know what its are for are a red/black line what color do i hook that up to on the aftermarket wires? and what is it for?

The memory wire on aftermarket stereos are usually blue, The one on the protege, I am not sure what color it is, get yourself a multimeter and leave the key out of the ignition, than check all of the remaining wires that are in the protege, which ever one still has power is the memory wire that you need.. I don't think it is going to be black or red, those are the grounds and the Ignition power..

I'll look at mine and see what color I have hooked up to the memory on my stereo. I'll post back later..

thanks man, can u find out which color u have the aftermarket blue hooked up to? and is the blue/with white or just blue? and which color do u have hooked up to the red/black line one?

my radio jvc 8250 sx:

Front speakers: Green and purple
Rear speakers: Grey and white
Ignition/acc.: Red
Balt/MEMORY : Yellow
Positive Dimmer : Stripped Orange
Power antenna : Blue

usually we just get a wiring adapter from the local shop that just plugs into the fatory radio harness, in the future do that and you will be in good shape. But for this issue got to this site and click on mazda it will give you the colors and wires for what you are tying to do :

i need to know what color is the memory wire that goes from the protege to the aftermarket which on yours is yellow
