Question Spoilers on 1st Gens? Canadian SE's?

Fellas, my memory has been a bit fuzzy lately, so I wondered if you could help me out, mainly you Canadian guys. Which 1st gens came with the factory spoiler? I'm thinking it was just Canadian SE's, but there could be more trim levels that had the little spoiler with the LED light. The reason I'm asking is I'm looking to purchase one, and I need to know for sure so I can tell the junkyards what I'm looking for when I call them up. Have to be sure they're sending me the right part! 'Preciate it......

Ok. I know the first design that you're talking about, but I don't recall ever seeing any pictures of that second style you mentioned. I like the design of the first type, but I'm really looking for a spoiler with an LED. You don't happen to know where I could snag a couple of pictures to look at and compare do you? I have to have you guys help me with finding all this stuff 'cause when I start looking around for information it seems like the rest of the world runs and hides.

I've gotta be sure of what I want 'cause I'm getting this spoiler from car-parts.com and when I call the junkyards they always seem to be confused about what I'm looking for, even though I tell them the exact year, trim level, body style, color, etc. that I'm looking for. I have to be 100% sure of what I'm looking for, because I know for sure that If I listen to some guy on the phone halfway across the world, he's gonna end up selling me the wrong thing....

Is that the type 2 spoiler you guys have been telling me about with the LED? Looks pretty good. I guess I don't really prefer one over the other, but it would be nice to have the LED brake light...

yes that's the "type 2" spoiler with the LED's
it's a really clean looking spoiler

the 1st one is a bit more aggressive but I don't like the brake light. LED's do look very cool. there's alot of them too.

Hmm.... looks like I'm gonna have to get on the phone and start calling those junkyards up north. Maybe I can even find one that's white and then I won't have to shell out big $$$ to get it painted. How would you guys recommend installing one of these spoilers? Do I just drill a couple of holes and bolt it on, or would that cause things to start rusting? How about the wiring for that LED/Brake light? Is the wiring already there, or am I gonna have to do some work??

Cool....Sounds easy enough, but what about that wiring? Can I just disconnect the brake light in my rear window and somehow wire it to the spoiler? Is that what the factory would do, or would that be considered a white trash modification/rigging job on my part? hehe.....

You will have to drill a few holes to mount it (from memory, for the first style its two at each side for screws, then 2 in the middle). To prevent rust you will just need to coat the areas with some paint. Regarding the wiring, I'll check my brothers DX tomorrow and let you know what it needs from a car with a spoiler.

Personally I think the first style spoiler is much more attractive, even without the led brakelight. The style makes up for that!

Yeah, I definitely like the look of the style 1, but at this point I'm not real particular. I'll probably end up buying the spoiler from somebody that has a listing at car-parts.com. My thinking is that hopefully they wouldn't list the spoiler as a separate piece unless they are willing to sell it as such, but I guess we'll see.

correct me if I'm wrong guys, but I believe this is the type 1 spoiler right? If it is, i'm really loving the way the spoiler wraps around the trunk lid like you guys said. Looks really good....

My DX has an extra 2-pin plug hanging down in the trunk...hmmm. maybe that's for the spoiler?

in the manual it says something like (under the bulbs section)

Brake light ... 17 watts
LED Brake light ... 6 watts

(don't remember the numbers).

I am guessing the LED spec is for ones with spoilers.

What would be a fair price to ship one of these things to Indiana from Canada? I don't know how much they weigh, so I can't really say. Plus I don't really ship much stuff that's that large so I have no idea what it would cost. I don't want these parts guys giving me some outrageous figure, like they've been known to in the past...
