yes you can fool it..............I forgot exactly how I did it 'cause it was a whie ago........

just disasemble the middle piece where the seatbelst are and you will see a small wire..........disconnect it or wire it somewhere else..........

I am not sure exactly how I did it, but it was somewhere along those lines...........it can be done though, so just take it apart and you'll figure it out................it's not rocket science.....

Pretty much what he said above... You need to ground the wire. I just connected the two together and it works fine. It's just a circut being completed. Take the center console off and you'll see a round plastic piece with wires in it.

Mine doesn't beep, but the light is always on. Is there anyway i can turn the light off? It annoys me.

Before my pro was my car it was my mom's car, and we got it new back in 1991. As long as I can remember it beeped while driving. But about a year ago I did the fix in the center console and in addition to that I removed the beeper from the circuit board near the fuse box. This also stopped it from beeping when the key is in the ignition and the door is open. (I HATE THAT, it doesnt help anything in my opinion). If anyone wants me to walk them thru either doing the console fix or removing the beeper, contact me.

....annoys me too...
i got rid of the beep -several years back... don't remember when- with the console trick; but that Mazda (overengineered) Protege seatbelt light doesn't want to die; i thought/hoped it woulda gone out by now!

Now you're talking Wil! Stop this thing once and for all! We've all been pushed around by the seatbelt alarm far too long!
