Roll-Call...Original Pro People

I waited long enough, i had to post SOMETHING here, i couldn't bear for this 1st Gen subforum to remian empty........and this is the best i came up with....sad but true...slow day....anyway, lets get underway....I guess i'll start...

Darryl
1990 (the very first year of the Protege)
LX 1.8L DOHC
some niffty mods
I have a pretty extensive hands-on website about the car, complete with install how-tos, plenty of photos, high quality audio and security products and other cool stuff. I also have a small window tint/alarm shop in HB, CA.

Anyway, check out the site and if you have a first gen it's very helpful. There are links to plenty of other Protege sites, all gens, vendors and manufacturers.

BTW, the subject title...it just happened that way.....

well the only thing on the outside of mine that gives any indication that it is fast ..... is the 'factory' "turbo intercooled" stickers .....

Cool

I got a 93 DX 5 speed with 17" rims wrapped in 205/40ZR17 kumho rubber, a hayame muffler, jvc kameleon stereo, 1 farad cap, 1000 boss amp, 3 jl 12" w6's, 2 audiobahn 6x9 (i hate these), a Ractive heat shield cone filter, sprint springs with 2" drop, and am currently working on getting some tokicos for the springs. i'm in the middle of custom molding a 99-00 civic black widow front bumper to my car too!

just figured i'd add, there don't seem to be that many of us...

Since Jesse just told me about this board this morning, I thought I'd drop by and have a look.

My car: 1990 Protege LX with 176k miles. Owned since new in 1/90. Autocrossed heavily since 5/90.

Current mods:
MazdaSpeed MX-3 struts
H&R MX-3 springs (about 30% stiffer than Protege models)
ST front and rear bars
Millen front STB
Fast rear STB
Hawk HPS front brake pads
Enkei RP-01 15 x 7 wheels with Falken Azenis 205/50-15 tires
Cobra seat and Schroth harness (driver's side)
Was originally white, until the paint peeled off, now Earl Schieb silver.
Original clutch!

Stereo is an Eclipse CD player (factory cassette died) with Sony/Clarion F/R separates speakers.

Planned upgrades are a Compass 1" rear swaybar, coil-overs, and camber plates.

Below is a picture of my GF driving my car (hence the STSL).

Welcome to the board David!

Nice to have your input here, i'm positive it will be a great asset to the list. Also great to have a fellow 90 LX in the ranks

BTW, i am trying desperately to get to the 28th event at Buttonwillow. Will you be there?

I'll be there both days. I have a points lead (1.1 points) to maintain.
