Resistor mod revisited
I was wondering what kind of gain I would get from doing that transistor mod to my ECU. I've done a search on it in this forum and seen some mixed responses. Some people say it does nothing at all...some people say it will actually harm your car, may cause the engine to burst into flames...and some people say that while it does lower your gas mileage slightly (by as much as 1-2 MPG) it does give you a few more horsepower. I was wondering if i could get a KNOWLEDGEABLE response to this issue with a reason why it would be good, bad or negligable to do this mod. seeing as how the resistor is only like $0.60 at radioshack, it couldn't hurt the wallet too much. Thanks guys.

i don't know about this, think about it, what are the major mods that you see people doing to their proteges? cat-back exhausts, custom intake systems which can be real hard to do or easy to do (haven't figured everything out myself yet), maybe an engine swap here and there, some new cams, etc... i have yet to see one person say they've put a resistor on their cpu to increase horsepower. i'm skeptical
