Replacing steering wheel on a '94 LX

Has anyone ever done this? I found a replacement thru junkyarddog.com for $60. I did this once way back in the day on a '77 Lemans and I needed a wheel-puller tool, which I don't have anymore of course. Will I need this tool? What about the cruise control?

I put a Momo wheel in my 90 GT which is the same as your LX (unless you have airbags which I don't). In the back of your steeting wheel there are three screws (unscrew these and pull the horn cover off. ) You will be able to see the cruise control buttons. There is a retaining clip that must be removed as well as the big nut.

I managed to just pull the steering wheel off by pulling on it back and forth, but you may have to rent/buy a steering wheel puller if it is on really tight.

If you are replacing it with another Protege wheel just follow directions in revese. (make sure you tighten the nut really tight)

Thanks Mik! Nope, no airbag here either. IIRC, I don't think the wheel-puller tool was very expensive.
