I absolutely feel your pain about the fuses. You change one, and you blow another one. It's almost an endless cycle.

Oh believe me.. I wanted to get another Pro...

...but I couldn't find one that I was content with for sale. I saw the Bimmer and took it. Haha.

May I suggest Buick?

Oh that's hilarious now. Ya know, maybe it's just me, but the first time I had my Pro - back in 94 - I thought the seats were plenty soft. One accident and a Bimmer later I'm sitting on hard sport seats and I acutally like them better than the softer seats of most cars, and dare we say... ahem... and Buick. Haha.

I don't want a heavy "real" spare tire. It's heavy, and worthless.

I liked the power locks too.

I'm sorry your passangers act like 5 year olds and press the hazards. Maybe something could be done about that?? The Ebrake is right there too....does it present a problem for your passangers?

If the horn gets stuck, cut the wire....duh. I did this in 1999.

The seats were plenty comfortable to me. I did quite a number of large road trips with the car, always enjoyed the seats. If you want something cushy, maybe Mazda or anything sportscar-like isn't for you? May I suggest Buick?

My brakes only squeeked once I put in some really aggressive brake pads.

Never had an automatic, never drove one, so I won't comment.
Nobody's making you take out your spare and put in a real tire.

I don't have power locks, I'm just going off of old posts from this board.

Yes, passengers go for my e-brake too. If you don't believe me ask DrySpyder.

Rather than cut the wire, I unplugged mine. Still though, no horn now.....

The seats are a matter of personal preference, I suppose.

The problem of the 1st gen's brakes squeaking has been reported many many times.

You are lucky. The auto for the Protege sucks compared to those of other cars.

Brakes will squeal on ANY CAR, depending on what pads you use, what rotors you use, and if you've used an anti-squeal compound!

The auto doesn't suck too bad... I think? I just messed mine up, mainly cause the last guy didn't change the fluid. Still runs fine (as long as the fluid level is okay), after running a lot of hot laps (20-30minute sessions) at 5000+RPM. , with 130,000 miles... sounds okay to me.

If the horn goes off randomly, get a replacement horn pad, it's an easy < $15 fix.
