A Pillar Gauge Pod

Still trying to find a gauge pod for some 2 1/16" gages for my gen1. I have an idea for making one on the dash on the passengers side right between the air vents. It wouldn't be hard to make but I would like em on the a pillar. Anybody heard anything or know. Autometer still is not working with me.

if i remember correctly, it's a 95+ Chevy Fullsize truck pod that fits good, with only a bit of heating to shape it.

A-pillar pod

I swapped in Canadian seat belts and used a mid-90's integra pod. Not a perfect fit, but pretty close.

I thought maybe autometer would work with us. But they said right now there is not that big of a demand. So we need strength in numbers. Who's all in?

I doubt autometer will ever make one for the first gen pro.

If autometer -actually- makes one, then so be it. If they don't, in a month or two I'll be making either a pod that fits properly, or a new a-pillar with built in pods for gauges (either 2 or 3). Which would you guys prefer?

Sure. I would be in for a 2 or 3 gauge one. Let me know if you need any help.

also, i beleive a mid 90s Corolla pod will fit as well, along with some heat shaping, but not much at all.

What do you have to do for heat shaping? Stick it in the oven for a little while or something?

Daddy's baking an a pillar gauge pod!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHA

- pull the A pillar trim out of the car, once you've marked your pod location.

- heat the pod with a heat gun and form it to the A pillar trim slowly, but heat only the pod, not the A pillar trim.

- attach pod to A pillar trim and re-install.

actually the oven would be ok if you needed the entire peice molded, but you'll probably only have to mold the outer edges only.

Are you guys still interested in the pods? I know its a bit past the 'month or two' I said... but school has to come first...
If anyone is, I can get started on these really quickly once summer holidays start (maybe even before then....) That is of course, if no one else has stepped up and made them already.

If only 2 people are interested its not gonna be worth my time.. or it won't be cheap by any means

Give it a few more days and see if anyone else speaks up..
