No idea what this is

Ok, the other day I went to get my cell phone charger out of my car, and I noticed a wire coming from under my drivers seat. When I pulled on it I found that it was some snap in white plug connection. Some 3 prong snap on the end of a wire. Hard to describe.

Any idea on what it is or what it does?
I unplugged it and have driven just fine with it detached for like 6 months now.

Nothing serious, just wondering what the heck it is.

seat belt indicator light/beeper... it routes over to your driver side lap belt buckle, and when you start your engine, or when it's disconnected, the light/beeper comes on for like 5 seconds or something. When I swapped my MX3 seats into my escort, i didn't bother hooking it back up, as with it disconnected, it doesn't give you any light or noise at all...

makes sense.

but I still had that stupid seat belt noise even with it disconnected. I just ended up unplugging the sensor in the center console. The BELT light stays lit, and it beeps only after the car is started and someone opens either door to get out or in.

Ah well, just thought I would ask to see if anyone knew what it was.
