New Engine!!

well well... i'm headed to a party with my girl last night and the timing belt breaks off and the pistons hit (HOW EMBARASSING) and now i'm gonna just buy a new engine (repairing is more than half the price of a new engine). I just want any suggestions on what i should buy and where i can buy them.... i like going fast if that helps and since i gotta buy one anyway i just want all my options... thanks a lot guys.... also... how much does it cost to switch to manual transmission? Thanks. Later.

umm....1st gen protege engines are non-interference. you should be able to install a new timing belt and be on your way.

thanks a lot!

thanks guys... if the pistons didn't hit then what on earth was that horrible noise that the technician said was the pistons hitting?.. hmmm.. i'll just change the belt and go from there.. if that fixes it then that'll be great. Once again thanks.

Since you have an LX, you're better off just getting the turbo manifold and a turbo. It will be better flowing + cheaper.
