Hey...

Well, I've always thought the best of my protege as the 4WD system has gotten me around places no normal 2wd car would ever have gone. Now I'm in the middle of replacing the gauge cluster currently in the car with a gauge cluster that includes a Tach. Now, they did make a gauge cluster with the tach for the 4WD cars, but they came with different warning lens inserts (what shows "battery" or "check engine", and so forth) so as to show the "CENT DIFF LOCK" light.

I've asked Mazda to order then and found them back ordered a week later. When asking why, they told me that they can't find them anywhere in the US! I've also called a couple national parts places, one of them specializing in just Mazda parts, but both said they wouldn't have the parts.

So, I'm asking if anyone out there in the forum can help me find these parts, whether in the US or elsewhere. I'll see if I can find the specific model No. for both if that helps. Thanks!

Do you have a picture of the 4wd cluster? If so please post it up and someone (including myself) may be able to find a suitable replacement for you.

 

I wonder if one from say a GTX would be swappable.
I'll assume that the place that specialized in Mazdas was Mazda Recycling??

 

Yes, I do have a picture, however I will have to find someway of getting it on here... I don't have a scanner right accessable currently, but I should be able to find one.
Also, yes that mazda place I called was Mazda Recycling. I'm sure the GTX's came with this kind of a gauge cluster with the correct pieces in it. Of course, the problem finding it still. I suppose I should ask junkyards if they have the GTX Pro on them or not. When asking, I first asked for the whole gauge cluster even though I already have it (from a DX Pro). Anyways, I will see what I can do to get that picture.
