My sister's POS Pro.. UPDATE! Must read!!

Is overheating. I haven't been able to look the car over, but I suspect the fan and/or relay has crapped out. Where is the fan relay on a '94 sohc located??

The cooling fan?...uh..right behind the radiator where it is on almost every other car.

I think it's on the drivers side, under the wheel down there somewhere. Of course this stupid chilton's manual isn't specific enough to tell me exactly where it is, it has to cover every model of mazda made over a range of 400 years

bah..i didn't take it as a flame, i'm the one to blame with my original smart *** comment, lol. i totally missed "relay" and couldn't figure out how someone didn't know where the fan is.

Since the 91-96 Ford Escort is essentially the same as the 90-94 protege, I can only assume that the placement of such components is going to be similar. I have included a cut from the EVTM manual for my 96 Ford Escort. Look in the bottom right corner on the side. You will find a pointer for the fan switch.

EDIT: I don't know why it keeps displaying so small...look hard in the lower right, you'll see a bit of red text, that's your relay.

HTH

Maybe your radiator's leaking, check antifreeze level, and see if the fan runs.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!

Sis calls today, "I got the car fixed". So what was the problem?? She says "I don't know". (I'm like WTF??)
Turns out, her husband took her to work on the pretense of taking the car to a friend who can fix it, and hauls *** down to the (gasp!!) Mitsu dealer, and buys her a new Lancer. She comes home later and asks about the POS, and he says it 's in the garage. She goes out and there's this new car w/ balloons and a bigass heart on it. Cool, huh???
