Manual Transmission

Whats up out there in protege woorld. Anyway I was wondering in a manual transmission ; how often are you supposed to change you're trans fluid. How do you check it, and how do you know when you are low. I know with automatic it is supposed to be every 50,000 if im not mistaken.

Isn't 1994 tranny takes Dexron or some kind of auto tranny liquid? 99 to 02 take gear oil for sure-75W80. I would check the manual or ask dealer.

You can still put MTL in it.

http://www.redlineoil.com/products.htm

ATF is used in manual trannies because it makes them easier to shift when cold- gear oil is very thick stuff and makes some trannies "notchy" in very cold weather. MTL still works better than ATF. I have yet to see a manual that didn't shift easier when filled with MTL or MT90.

BTW my car has MT90 in it and I love it.
