lights on :(

Hi

I always seen to leave my lights on, and I'm planning to take my Mazda to a electrician and see if I can ask him to connect my light wires to my key switch so when I turn off the car the light goes off not matter what a friend told that it will be easier if I ask the mechanic to install something that "beep" when I turn off my car and the light are on.

Any Ideas what is the best way to deal with this because I always forget my lights on?

Thanks

Alex

I've got a relay in my 3rd gen. Lights turn into on position when I start my car and they go off when I shut the car down

Installing is a very simple procedure.

3rd Gen means 3rd generation Mazda Protege (1999-current), 2nd gen is 1995-1998 and first gen is 1990-1994.

Mine dont beep...

I leave my lights on all the time, n my battery never dies...

If you keep doin this, get a portable battery charger... it might be a little less than the whole beeper thing...

yes LX's from 93+ have a "Beep" when lights are left on. Im pretty sure u can get the relay that will make ur car beep as well in the DX. I have a DX also, but i have sidemarkers and i can see if lights are still on when i walk out my car. And at night u shouldnt be able to forget the lights are on. Atleast i cant forget. During the day....I dont drive with em on no need. Wastes gas if u think bout it.

Ways to save gas:
1. Use headlights only at night or when required
2. Dont use A/C unless u need to
3. Keep Air off HIGH, Keep on LOW setting.
4. Other options like defrosters ETC can waste gas also.
5. If you have a manual....switch gears at 2500-3000. not over 3grand. Saves LOTS of gas.

Its hard to explain these things but let ur car idel. Switch on the headlights and watch ur tach. The rpms raise, same with AC, DEfrosters ETC. Ive done differnt Gear changin techniques, driving techniques and running diff options of equip to see my gas millege. if you do those 5 things, ud save upto 4-6mpg per tank.

Ive done it!

My P5 raises hell if you leave the lights on with the ignition off and the doors open.
