I have seen and used spray made specially for the tail lights. Nowhere did it say that it was high temp, but you are probably right.
wer're not talking header or engine paint here just a good automotive paint. Not your run-o-the-mill krylon.

That pic of the blue pro with the racing stripe is my car. I went to Pep boys, got a GTS headlight styling kit. I used the circles from the kit and set them up on the tailights. I then stuck the vinyl circles on the tailights and spray painted whatever wasn't covered black with rustolem paint. I then removed the circles and after the paint was dry, I sprayed the lenses with VHT Nite Shades tint spray. After that was dry, I gave it 2 coats of Rustolem clear coat. Gives it a nice factory look and surprisingly I don;t get pulled over for it either cuz if light hits the lense, you can still see the reflector.

damn--you dug this thread up---that was back when i was going to paint my car black--as you can see--i didn't........

i just couldn't get myself to put vinyl on my car---

i thought it wouldn't look right with how much i spent on everything i've done so far---some day i amd going to finish my plans of making custom, colormatched, plastic peices to use during the day--and just take them off when night driving--i think this would look badass with the car----
