Unhappy I used that GUNK ENGING FLUSH..DAMMIT!

After doing it I saw allot of mixed (mostly negative) reviews about that stuff...Now that I used it I noticed my car is smoking now and it never did before...Thats with the engine just idling. I haven't driven because my inner tie rods are shot and I haven't replaced yet....If this stuff is making my car smoke what is causing it and how or what should I do to make it stop..I also replaced my regular oil with synthetic after flushing. Should I go back to conventional oil that's a little thicker for a while and run a thick engine additive to maybe make eveything seal up again? I just hope I didn't F---K up anything here...If anyone here has any experience with this crap I'd like to know what I'm facing...My pro' has 90,000 miles on it as we speak...

I'm assuming you used the GUNK engine flush?!?! If so, I've never had any problems with it. I used it on several older motors that had been sitting up for a long time. I used it on my 1967 Mustang GT and it made it much better. GUNK is really just an abrassive detergent to remove built up "gunk" that gets hung in the oil channels. It works really well......

now about your problem....if you are running thick oil (anything over 15w) and you try to use the gunk it may be thinner than that viscosity and is causing the new gunk/oil mix to seep into the combustion chamber causing the smoke you're seeing. This is a sign of worn/bad rings....not a bad product.

I have to ask, not to be a jerk....but you did pour this in your engine oil and not your gas tank right?? We had a woman add oil to her gas tank once...it was not pretty.

Yes it was gunk that I used>>>more

......j/k!! HAHA that's crazy, But no I didn't pour it in the gas tank. Legit question though as I have done some crazy stuff before. I followed the directions exactly as shown on the bottle except I didn't remove my oil pan and filter. I think I might do that however this weekend when I have the car up doing my inner tie rods. So if it is my rings than I suppose those have to be replaced. How much is involved in that as the parts? My cousin has a shop that I can do the work in. Anything in the meanwhile I can do to stop the smoke???? it's hard to drive down the rode looking cool when you got smoke coming out the back end!!!!!!!!!

to replace the rings you basically have to build another motor....you should run a full compression test first to see if any cylinder is losing significant pressure.

is the smoke coming from your muffler or the engine? if its the muffler it could be your O2 censor making you run rich.
