Unhappy i noe nothing...and would like to learn...

I have a 91 SOHC protege. Its my first car BUT i love it and i want to keep it for a long time. . I want to do performance stuff to the car but being an automatic and a SOHC i noe there is not much to do.

I want to add maybe a turbo but there doesnt seem to be room under the hood. If i were to do this or if i even have the possiblility of being able to do this what kind of turbo will i need and what other articles will i need to purchase.

Any other performance ideas or opinion/ comments are welcome. And yes i noe that a manual is better but ive never driven one and this car was available. Who noes...i might buy the same car but a manual.

Well, thanx in advance to anyone who helps...

i know its not the fastest model..and it is an auto......but there are alot of people on this site with sohc...autos. from what i've seen...there is plenty of things to do with your model pro....

all the little basics is what you should start with....intake tube..cold air intake...pipe...sports muffler..headers...you could have some fun with it...

and in the future if you reeaalllyyy want to keep it...you can get a new tranny and make it a 5 spd.....

but if you keep coming here...you learn alot about any model pro...modifying it....etc.

later

Well ur car isnt as bad as it seems. But if u wanna get a fast protege u could sell urs and pick up a 5 speed dx for almost nothing. U could do a Dohc head swap or u could get a sohc turbo kit i think they are making for it. U could buy a Bpt 1.8 dohc turbo motor for 1200 and build it up replace the auto and make it a stick shift. Theres plenty of potential in the car if u have the money...Jon 93 lx

Yes, I don't know that much but I've learned a lot just reading these webpages There is plenty of room under the hood for a pretty good turbo system
