I Have a 1992 Mazda Protege LX Sedan With thr 1.8L DOHC engine with automatic transimission and the hold light on the dash is on and flashing all the time. can anyone tell me what this means. ? I have gone out a got a Chilton's Automatic Transmission Diagnosis and repair manual and found that I have codes of 66 which by this manual could be 2 things. 1) Line pressure control solenoid or circuit or 2) ATF temperature sensor or circuit. but it does not give locations. can anyone help. Your transmission is about to go out if it hasn't already. Get it checked immediately.

Happened to me, had to replace the transmission!

 

I had the same problem with mine and it turned out to be the speedo cable.

Just another possability.
