Talking

go with something different. what shades of red and orange are you looking at? Personally I'd go with the orange, i wanted to do something like that with my own, but i have a blue interior, and it wouldn't go over well!! Just depends if you want to turn heads i guess

I swapped in seats from a protege GT. they look great and they're way more comfortable than my stock SE seats. that's an option and i've also heard (but never tried) that MX3 seats will swap in with no modification.

I would just get a nice set of aftermarket seats so you won't be sitting on 8yr old foam.

Also, with CAREFUL precision you could have a very nice interior. Try cleaning (thoroughly), sanding and then painting your dash, trim, door panels. etc....like a nuetral color...blacks and greys work best. Also, there are some places that sell new custom carpet for your car for like $200. It would be a very cheap way to make the inside look brand new. Once you have that done then you could paint the car any color you wish.

He most likely found them from a wrecked Protege GT.

midnightblue was right, I got the GT seats from a wrecker. They weren't hard to find, there's like five GT's at wreckers in my area.

And, about shaving the trunk, I just did it a couple weeks ago. I did it by removing the lock, taking a small piece of metal just barely big enough to cover the hole, and holding it to the inside with a magnet while i welded it in. Because of the inward divot in the metal, it didn't protrude out far enough that i had to grind it down, just filled the empty space with bondo, and it looks great!! I also just straight bondoed the holes where i took the emblems off.
I'm sure this isn't the only way to do it, but it worked great for me!
