Exhaust Question

I currently have a very loud exhuast system and was wondering if adding a resonator in the piping would help tone it down a bit. If so, what size/company resonator should I use?

if it's REALLY LOUD, then go for a longer resonator, like 16-18".

Most shops have them from around $30. It's just a glasspack.

That's correct. I learned that the hard way. After a little over a year, my exhaust fell off due to rust in the piping.

This thread has to win the award for being the first time anyone has asked how to make their car make less noise.

That's insane. Someone actually wants LESS noise?!? That actually MAKES SENSE! It's funny, though, when around here I see people who have cut off their mufflers! I try hard not to laugh at them.

ha, i'd chop out the whole exhaust system and run a straight pipe if there weren't noise polution standards, emission standards, etc... i don't know, it's strange, i like obnoxious things (is the type of person to smile his farts and laugh at an even better one)... i went obnoxious on my sound system (mostly bass for the time being), obnoxious on the horn (twin electric horns), and my exhaust... well, i could have done worse and chopped it off, but i went with a flowmaster. noise is a fun thing at least while i'm young. i know when it comes to about a year or two down the line, i will tone back a little on the little toys that make my car obnoxious, but hell, why get a resonator, letting someone know you're coming is what it's all about!
