Is the ecu the same as as Escort gt ecu? I have a egt I wrecked and thinking of getting a protege w/ the DOHC so I could have a spare engine but I had the ecu reprogrammed and want to know if i could exchange them.

The ECU for the DOHC and SOHC motors are not the same and are not interchangable.

The ECU for the Escort GT (91-95) and Protege LX (90-94) are interchangeable. They're same car essentially, just different body panels. The SOHC and DOHC ECU's are not interchangable with one another.
