Ok, there are no stupid questions, right?! (even tho I've asked a few )

Exactly how is this done? Does disconnecting the battery for several minutes do it?

1. disconnect battery
2. press brake pedal for 30secs
3. reconnect battery

sheesh, short post, 3 questions

a) because it resets the ECU
b) because pressing the brake drains the caps so that all the electricity in the system is drained, thereby erasing the data plots in the ECU
c) pull the negative
Does this go for all cars?
