no sound.. it just turns over, and over, and over, and over.. lol... although, the past couple of days, it's having a rough time staying running at idle, and when i held gas down to 2.5k rpms, the motor skips fire... maybe bad plugs? or distributor cap.. but i think the cap is fine.. i did use a degreaser around the plug holes the other day to clean my engine, and that's when it started having problems.. any suggestions? replace the plugs? something else maybe wrong? thanks..

1. Pull the wires connecting to the plugs.
2. Pull plugs and inspect.
3. Check wire ends that connect to the plugs, sometimes these don't contact the tip of the spark plugs depending on how carefull/careless you are on taking them off.
4. Still having problems, check back here...maybe someone else on the board has had this problem???

Make sure everything is dry. Pull the distributor and dry everything out. Pull the plugs and make sure they are dry (compressed air works well for blowing the water out). It sounds like you have an intermittent grounding problem. But likely water is the cause.

well, i took the distributor cap off, cleaned it out, and went to put it back on.. well i turned a screw a little bit too hard and it snapped.. i tried to get it out using the screw driver and hammer method.. lol.. make a slit by hitting the screw driver onto the broken screw, and then unscrewing it out.. well, the tab busted off of my distributor... anyone have one for sale? rofl.. and how much?

Similar thing happened to me w/ my '92 DX, would start fine but on cold morning warmups it would stutter between 2-3k rpm. Problem was weak spark and I was loosing a cylinder. Put in some new NGK copper plugs and invested in a set of Magnecore ignition wires and not only did the problem go away, but it seemed to run much smoother as well.

i just had this problem like a week ago. Turns out one of my spark plugs were rusting and i was running on 3 cylinders some times. I just changed all of them out with new ones and it works fine now
