clicking problem

I have this loud clicking problem when I am idling. It will sit there and click in very quick succession, also accompanied by the A/C not blowing as much cold air as before. Also I am not getting the airflow through the vents as high as I would like, would a new blower motor solve this problem or do you think I have some vents clogged?

Where is the clicking coming from? Does it only happen when you turn your blower on?

Only with the blower and A/C on, if only the blower is on, then the clicking subsides

It sounds like it may be your A/C fan. Is the clicking coming from inside the car or in the engine compartment?

personally, i couldn't diagonose such a problem as you're indicating, however, take it to a qualified mechanic and have them take a look at it. i get a similar clicking noise when my refridgerant is hovering between a certain psi on the cold side... in between 12 to 20 psi... ie meaning it's low, but if your problem is only at idle, as in you can't hear it when you're crusing down the road, seriously roll all your windows up an drive down the road... 25 mph + and see if you can hear it then (windows down creates too much wind noise to decipher anything in this case). personally, i'm having a particular problem with my a/c, where i've finally got it to a good charge and it holds, however the belts squeel a little bit, so it's going into the mechanic to have it looked at, probably just need my a/c belt tightend or the like, i'll have to keep you posted. i am in no way suggesting that your refridgerant is low however, just instead of ****** with the damn thing and creating more problems than it's worth, just take it to a mechanic. there are people here qualified to give advice on motor problems and upgrades, but few have the knowledge to diagnose a/c problems.. good luck bud.
peace

it does seem that the problem may be the fan. Just check your A/C fan to make sure nothing is hitting it or in its way. If there is nothing obvious then demon is right. It's not worth messing with your A/C system. Take it to a mechanic.

my pro' has the same problem, Iv spent some time trying to track it down but couldnt find anything, but it stops when the a/c and fan are turned off, but continue when turned back on, Iv had the problem awile and eveything still runs fine, It was there before I got the car so I wouldnt know a difference as far as the performance of the blower.

the clicking noise is from your a/c clutch. It keeps clicking on and off because it doesn't have enough freon in the system

be careful what kind of advice you give, he could have a leak, weak compressor, leaking valve.. you don't know that his charge is low, the only way to FULLY assume that is to slap a gauge on and find out... 25 to 45 psi he's good, over that... you're asking for problems, under that, it might cool a little bit, but not enough.

actually I do have a leak, a slow leak at that but still, Once you reharge it, it takes about 6 months before it gets bad again. But after I got it recharged the clicking stopped. So I guess I know why it was clicking now.

i get the same clicking on my dx, i needs to be recharged for like a year now. Is it worth getting it converted to that "new" ac type?
