Cleaning aged headlights

Does anyone have any tips / tools / materials needed to give the foggy / rusty headlights a new look ?

Is there some special plastic abrasive compund and than something to polish it with ?

Thanks

What I did is use some CLR on a rag, and rub it. Than I washed them, after that I used some "brassol" jewelery polishing liquid. The light look amazing and still do. I did all this in 30 minutes for both light, without removing the lights from the car.
