Charging A/C

Question Charging A/C

Hey.. my A/C is not really cooling ****...

Could I buy an A/C kit and charge it myself ?? How difficult would it be ??

A/C

I changed the A/C in my 91 DX from R-12 to R-134a about a year ago and it has been working fine. I used one of those $30-40 kits and about two hours work with a helper whose father own a radiator and A/C shop. It would cost about $100 plus the kit to have it done for you.

Can I keep the same refrigerant type gas and just buy the kit ???

Do u know if autozone sells it ???

How difficult is it to charge the system ???

I think your 92 uses the same refrigerant that my 91 did. In that case, using the same refrigerant is very expensive since there is a very heavy tax on R-12 freon.

I don't know if autozone sells the kit, but I would be surprised if they didn't Strauss and PEP Boys sell it.

It is not difficult to charge the system. It is difficult to make sure that nothing in the system leaks.
