Can someone help me out

wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this specific car or as close as it might get. I have a 94 mercury capri with the NA 1.6L. I was wondering if this is the same exact motor as the 1st generation and if the engine swaps that apply to those would apply to my car as well. IT's a 5 speed and the tranny is good and it only has 80k miles and is really clean and in really good shape. It's been stored it's whole life and won't even be coming out of the garage this summer due to waiting to complete the small restoration of the interior and exterior to make it pristine. Will the 1.8L with 170 hp bolt right up to this tranny and engine mounts requiring only a swap to take place or is there more custom work that needs to be done, if so I might just stick with the small motor and concentrate on looks but that extra power is really tempting. Check out the pics of the car here if you don't know what it actually is, it looks much better than the 91-93 model and there were only a couple thousand 94's imported before they stopped making them. It's estimated that there are about half that still in the country which makes them somewhat rare. http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/mes...threadid=79177

you may want to look into the B6T 1.6L DOHC turbo engine, found in the 88-89 323 GTX AWD hatchback. It will drop right in and you could retain your current transmission.

Comes with 130hp stock, but with a few minor tweeks it can jump up in power pretty good.
