A/C Valves

Ok, i can't expect much response, but how many of you know anything about a/c systems? well, i just converted my system yesterday morning, and now, 36 hours later, all the refridgerant, oil and leak sealer leaked out. took it too my buddies and we threw a 3 oz or so charge at the thing to see where the leak was coming from. low and behold right near the condensor coil, on the compressor, the lower valve on the compressor blew out. researching, i found out that this is an over-pressure release valve that blows if there is an over charge in the system, this of which i know had to of happened before i got the car, just throwing more refridgerant at it, it decided that it didn't like the charge i threw at it. well, now i have two options, replace the compressor which DOES come with the Compressor Pressure Valve. the other option, the one i'm eyeballing is just getting a new valve (8 to 20 bucks), instead of paying the $200 to $300+ on a new compressor. i've looked online and i can't find any place that sells this valve. what do you guys suggest? my step on wednesday is to head to the junkyard for some unfinished buisness and get this ****** sealed up with a fresh used valve
peace and thanks for your help

That is the same problem I seem to be having. I guess the valve blew on me when I charged it, I used a gauge set though so I dont see how. Maybee thats why the system was empty in the first place. Man my A/C was ice cold for a trip to the city but by the time I got back all the coolant had leaked out. Im going to need a new condensor fan also. Im buying the compressor Gro Harlem is selling so hopefully I will be set after I get that put on. Im not sure where you can get a new valve, maybee the junkyard will be your best bet. Hope you get it working, it sucks not having AC in the summer.
