Question A/C Relay question

Well my a/c has never worked ever since I've bought my 90' Dohc protege. I've been trying for weeks to figure it out...even went to the junkyard and installed a newer compressor off of a 94' protege. Still no luck... I did notice that one of the relays make a "Clicking" sound when I attempt to turn on the a/c. Do you think it might possibly be bad? Any other ideas?
Thanks --- Hamilton

the relays job is to "click" If one isn't clicking, its probably not functioning correctly. Have you converted it to r-134 and recharged it yet?

Never mind now. I fixed the problem. It was a short in the fan causing the fuse to blow! Yeah I changed over to Freeze 12 actually. I noticed that it is actually colder than 134a. Finally after months of trying to figure it out I got it!
thanks for the reply.

Its a better alternative rather than using 134a. This guy that owns a car dealer ship told me that its the only thing he will use when converting over a car to a new refrigerant. I think Freeze 12 is similar to R12 because the of the warning label. "WARNING- A substance which harms public health and enviroment by destroying ozone in the upper atmosphere." The only place I could find the stuff was on Ebay. Got a kit for $40...well worth it!
