BP in a Tracer?

a friend of mine has a 1994 mercury tracer, and found a good deal on a BP engine. he's wondering will the BP fit in the tracer?

let me know, so I can let him know, he's wanting something new for his car.....

you will need everyting under the hood from a 90-94 protege dohc or a escort 91-95 gt or a tracer with the dohc in it.

it'd be easier if the tracer was a 91-96.. and umm the tracer LTS came with a BP

the only trouble you might have in buying a Tracer LTS is finding one thats a 5-speed, ( if thats what hes looking for) they did make them but they are very hard to find, i have never seen one in person but there are 2 or 3 on the ERDT board. and if theres one thing you dont want its an auto behind the BP...

if you cant find one that is 5 speed buy a tranny from the junk yard and swap it in at least 2 escortracing.com members have done a auto to manual swap and and escort is almost identical in every way to a tracer.

also take a look at the hybrid cars at the escortracing.com home page theres an awsome escort witha a turbo BP on a auto transmition that a handicap guy built. It looks so sweet
