Is It Better

What's up out there in protege world. I heard when you are drivng a stick;and you are waiting at a red light. It is better to leave the car in neutral;and ,throw the car in gear as the light changes to green to keep the clutch from excessive wear. But that takes to long. When I drive, and I'm at a red light . I already have my foot on clutch and first gear;so when the light changes green I save that second or two of not having to shift and clutch. But everyone I know says I't does not cause extra wear on you're clutch. But in a way it kind of makes sense since you have you're foot resting on the clutch waiting for the light to change. I could see in a way how it might wear it out. I also heard the only time you touch the clutch is when you are shifting gears. You DO NOT ride the clutch. No acceptions
