Probably just need an A/C recharge (freon), but if they find that there is a leak in the system that'll cost you about $300-$400 to fix (or that's how much it was on my friends Cavy).

go to the local auto parts store

My protege's ac was **** after my dad using it for about 7 years it finally gave up and would blow some very warm out. So I went to the auto parts talked to the guys there and I got a I think a recharge kit that also converted it too a diffent kind. It has some cans, a hose to use to connect the cans to the ac line in the engine. One can I think is some sort of oil, that you first connect to your line and let that go through. Then you should put a can of the gas into the line let that run through, and put another one in also. The kit DOESN'T come with cans of the cold stuff, so you need to buy another one for a few more bucks. It works instantly-you turn the ac on and you freeze your *** off literaly...

That lasted a whole summer, then last summer it was weak again, so I put another can in and it worked fine again!

All together it cost me around $40-50.

Here's a pic I just took of the kit, and also I don't even know if this is the right one to use, so don't come back yelling at me-check first.

Sorry for the flash-I took it in the garage. Also here is a pic of the snow going on right now-and no, that's not my car-that's my mom's RSX Type S My pro can still kick it's ***.....errr
