Anyone that thinks there stock 1st gen protege is fast.

 

Different people have different views of fast..

 

It is fast(er) than alot of cars in its category and that aren't in it's category no its not a "fast" car by anymeans but its not slow either.

catch my drift? How many of the above came with a 1.8 DOHC and weighed less than 2500lbs?

 

yea i used to get that but i jus dropped in the JDM BP-T motor......and wow...i can't wait till spring see wat the civics say after that........i also get under rated cause i got a roof rack and huge foglights on my car.....**** is straight up rally, that also handles itself on the street...****'s crazy

But your missing the point. Your naming slow *** cars. Now if you said hey its faster than a Wrx or Rsx than i would understand. But beating a econobox civic with an econobox escort or Protege doesn't mean its fast. Granted i like my car also (93 lx 5speed) but i know my 2 trucks and 92 honda accord would beat it in a race and they are not fast by anymeans.

my escort has a 1.8 bp...and i can get to the speed limit pretty quik. lol, i dont care if its slow, it can beat the cars that it competes against and alot of cars that should be fastER are not. its no EVO or STI, but for $600 and being a '91 its pretty good bang for the buck, and as for the BPT, that is-in fact- fast, ppl beat SRT4's with the bpt, and SRT4's beat WRX's so in my opinion its fast, and by the way, the GTX familia is a STOCK car. (in japan and the uk)

 

and the point of this thread was not saying that egt's and protege's can beat Vipers, but i was just saying that when the ppl with civics and j-bodies talk crap they dont realize that our cars are faster -stock for stock that is-
