100k Maintenance

100k Maintenance

My car is slowly approaching the 100k mark and I want to make sure I am all up to date on the maintenance schedule. What exactly are all the things that need replacing around 100k? So far, I’ve replaced radiator (including upper and lower hoses), brake rotors and pads, timing belt, front main seal, fuel filter and air filter. I have also replaced spark plugs and wires but that was a year or two ago. At what mileage or time intervals should the plugs and wires be replaced ? Should I consider replacing the distributor cap and rotor ?

Anything else I’m missing???

fuel filter if you wanna bother
air filter
plugs and wires
rad coolant
top up everything
belts if you want to depending on their wear

You should prolly go ahead and replace the distributor cap/rotor..... not like it costs a ton of money.

check your manual, it's right there at the end

timing belt is at 120k, that's all I remember, and that's cause I have to do it

at idle to around 1K RPM, my belts squeel and squeek. they are worse when its cold or when its raining. does this mean i gotta replace my belts?

sounds like they slipping (duh) but yea you could try some belt dressing that should make them grip and hence stop the squeeling

inspect drive belts, timing belt air cleaner, spark plugs, cooling system, fuel filter, fuel lines, idle speed, break lines and hoses and connections, clutch pedal, brakes, steering linkage, ball joints, driveshaft boots, misc nuts and bolts on chassis and body, a/c

if you want to be cheap about it dish soap will stop squeeling

I just replaced belts.... most of the time, you just need to tighten them up. Or you can replace them, when other **** goes wrong. I just had my radiator go out on me. Well, I replaced my radiator, and my belts. Guess what else? You guys hating that plastic top on your radiator?

My new radiator is all metal now

Don't use belt dressing!!!!!!!!!!!! It just gunks everything up!!!!!!!!!

dont forget to change the timing belt when it will be recommended. i'm around 110k km and i blew up mine last week. nothing bad happen, but paying 40$ extra for the towing was pretty useless.

how much will it cost to get that done by somebody? I know it's something I can do on my own but I don't necessarily want to right now. (I'd take it to a shop other than the dealer, the (only) one around here charged me $10 for the mazda oil filter, almost def. gonna be a rip off)

the timing belt is around 70$ can. retail price. and figure around 2 hours of labor.
