suspension q's

I want to take my ride into the shop to have the suspension checked out...Can anybody help me in identifying parts of the suspension? I don't know a lot on suspension...what are some of the main things that the mech should look at first? second?
It's just that I'd like to be informed before I get to the shop so I know what he's talkin about and so that I also know what to look for just in case something causes a problem down the road.

not in any particular order,

struts
upper strut mounts
thrust bearings (front only) they go inbetween the upper mount and upper spring perch
sway bar mounts and endlinks
control arms (and bushings, front)
tie rod (steering)
spindle ball joints
rear link bushings
check the CV boots on the axles while your at it.
