Hey Darryl,

Where can I get these springs H&Rs = 1.25"/1.0" I checked the page of Corksport and their size is different from the one you have. Now you said you got the MX-3 springs right? but my question is: Should I get the ones for the v6 or 4 cylinders???

Also I checked the web page of Ford and couldn't find the dam struts for the zx2. I guess I'll just go to the Ford dealer wich is the Mazda dealer in the same building, and ask for the struts there. How much you said they run for?

Thanks man

I got the H&R's from the tire rack. Decent price. I have had the struts and springs on now for a little over 1 week and I love them. The ride is a little more noticible over bumps in the road. I definatly am careful pulling into drivways and going over railroad tracks. I hope they will serve me well once I start autocrossing. I have not posted pics on my site yet of the car since the springs but they will be coming soon.

I got mine from Davard, so i dunno which stores have em, you may just try H&R direct, or maybe they have a dealer near you.
this page, from H&R's site <http://www.hrsprings.com/fcgi-bin/qu...nsionquery.cfg> shows only one type for both v6 and 4cyl MX3's.

here's the struts your looking for <http://www.oemfordparts.com/PartDeta...ubCategoryID=5>

www.oemfordparts.com
search
vehicle parts
ford racing
chassis and suspension
(2nd on the list, P/N M-18000-Z2 strut kit)

you may need more indepth searching for the strut bearings, but i suggest you call the 800 number and talk to Theresa Valley.

Darryl:

Did you get the H&R springs for the Protege or the MX-3 ?
cause the size that you have match the ones for the Protege. In the page you gave me, the MX-3 springs are actully lower 1.5 front and 1.3 rear The Protege's are 1.25 front, 1 inch rear. So which set did you get ?

Check it out:

http://www.hrsprings.com/fcgi-bin/qu...nsionquery.cfg

Should I get the ones for the Protege or the ones for the MX-3 ? I don't really want to lower the car too much since I might be doing some Rallycross. Besides I have a 323 1990 hatch back and I guess it is a little lighter than the Pro's.
I went to the dealer and they quoted the struts @ 130 each !!.......not horse power but $$$$$ and then I asked for the bearing and the guy said there wasn't any........ I guess they don't know any better.
Thanks alot for the link to the Ford web page, they are really cheap there !!.

Please let me know about the springs. I checked the web page of corksport and they have the H&R springs for the Protege for $ 199. And the ones for the MX-3 for $ 201. Not too bad. By the way I'm waiting on my Genie headers, can not wait to install them !

Hey SLPRprotege, don't forget to post pics of the struts...
