YEAH engine swap again

ok guys here is my question, I come from the scrap yard and i found a Probe GT. Everything looks fine exept the body, rear collision or something like that....

anyway, the guy is willing to sell all the mechanic to me for 1500$ CAN (1000$ USD)

This includes EVERYTHING spark plugs to wheel lol

I wonder if its a good price for a swap into my Pro '90 SE
Thanks

oh yeah.... it has 120,000 km on it

Are you sure its a KL-ZE and not a different KL-series? I thought you could only get the KL-ZE imported from Japan?

I would call either corksport or BLT and get the engine code for the kl-ze and compare it to the one you want to buy. Maybe someone else on here would know the codes, or how to distinguish them.

The North American version of the KL in the MX-6/Probe is a KL-03.

the difference between the one you are getting sold and the one here http://members.rogers.com/a_spec/services.html , is that that motor is the North american that pushes 164hp (i think) and the one on the site is a Jap spec and pushing out 200 hp.... i believe

I'll confirm HighBody- you're looking at a big power difference between the two. The KLZE is what the Probe/Mx6/626 crowd upgrades their KL03 V6s too. It's got different heads, intake, pistons and ecu (for the hardware). $1299 for the KLZE seems like a steal to me. I just bought a KL03 for $900 with 80k miles on it. If you're going to all the work involved in an engine swap- I'd spend the extra dough and get the ZE. - rob
