For those doing engine-swaps....
Before you start your swapped engine, i'm sure most (if not all) think to drain the old oil and put new in....here's a suggestion:
refill with *WARM* new oil so that it can FLOW to oil deprived parts that much better!
if you've got a nice, warm day; set the new oil outside in the sun for awhile. If its cold out, and your driving with your heater on, put the new oil next to your heater vents. You could even put it in a pot on the stove and *slowly* heat it....
i for one let my pro sit at one point for ~5 months without starting it. when i went to start it, i drained the old and put new in.... it was horrible listening to all the 'noise' that the engine made for literally MINUTES
only sometime later did i think of the idea to heat the oil before you put it in to make the wear and tear less. i've done it a few times on my B-series truck and it really seemed to help!

On an imported engine, I would recommend getting some cheap oil for the first time and just start it up and let it idle with if for a while, maybe take it around the block, then throw in some engine flush, drain it, then fill with whatever you like (I'm a fan of Mobil 1).

Ya, Jason is a fart smeller...errrr, smart feller
another option is to use a thinner grade oil so it flows faster as well, then drain that and put in the correct grade.
