Swappable crankshafts?

Hey all..im just wondering...will a SOHC engines "crankshaft" work on a DOHC engine?...i blew my engine and f**ked my chankshaft up but i know where i can get one used but its from a SOHC engine....will it work?...if so i think i can have my car back runing in no time!!

as i understand it, the SOHC lower end is exactly the same as the DOHC....so, yes, it will work.

something else (if it matters):

i found out that the SOHC crankshaft is CAST, whereas the DOHC is forged....but...to confuse it a little more; someone with a 91 EGT(DOHC) said HIS crank was CAST - 'cause he saw the casting marks on it.... so??

sorry SPENONE for the delay...

the fact that the SOHC crank is 'cast' makes no difference in it fitting; its just that a 'forged' crank is *stronger* than a 'cast' crank; but i really don't think of it being a problem unless you start making big HP(turbo,etc)

now i'm just hoping someone can CONFIRM that it will fit....Jesse?? or anyone else in the know?
