I don't quite understand what got wet

it will most likely dry out.........shouldn't be something to worry about.......not unless it was pouring on the engine compartment while you were changing them...........

i dont know about the steam.

as far as the car shaking, it could be due to a wet distributor. i dont the rain would give the spark plugs too much of a problem.

couple key things when doing spark plug changes when i did my plugs, i was told, proper gapping, let the engine cool for 2 or more hours till absolutely cold to the touch so you don't strip out the threads on your engine block, i was told tons and tons of bullshit tightening techniques (all of which didn't seem to make sense to me at the time)... and the most important was not changing them in the rain.. some people even recommend disconnecting the battery ground. simple fix i would imagine, just take out your plug wires and stems, cap and rotor, and let them dry inside, then, in a 'dry' area, preferably in your garage if you have one, take a hot air gun and try and evaporate that water out of there... again, don't hold me against what i'm saying, but i think if you let the parts i mentioned dry, you should be alright.
