really good clutch kit

I finally made up my mind, i already wanted to make my protege fast, at first i wanted to put a bpt in my dx but then i decided to get an lx and work from there. but what i wanted to know is does anyone know of a 94 lx clutch kit that is capable of handling more 300ft/lbs of torque and alot of horses, the highest i found is the an ACT clutch that claims 278ft/lbs.

and by the way, i have $5000 to use on my car any suggestion (no insults please)

Locate a GTR motor. Seriously... if I had it to do over again that's what I would do. More HP for your money and a better engine.

what does yor car 1/8 and 1/4 mile and at what boost?

i did some research on the cars (dx/ lx/ gtx/ gt-r) and the lx is almost intentical to the gtx minus the Awd and the turbo. a gtx in a fwd sedan should only run about a 15.8 or 9. and i dont think that is worth $1000 plus install when i can get a turbo set up for less than $500. but if there is something i didnt factor in please tell me.

You're not going to get your car turboed for $500, and you're not going to get the GTX done for $1000. The GTX will put you in the 14s easily, and possibly high 13s if you're a very good driver.

This same question has been on my mind for a long time myself: whether to get the GTX engine or find a busted up LX and take it's engine instead. Well, I've just found I had a friend in the business... His shop can get the GTX engine for about $700 from Corksport, plus he'll help me install it. Put that in my AWD Pro and I should have a quick little car. All I need to find is the GTX transmission and possibly ECU. I'm guessing the ECU for the GTX is not the same as the LX, right?
Anyhow, for my car, I think the GTX engine, now that I can get it for a good price, will do best. Any thoughts on that?

Use the Bp and try to find a GTR turbo if u can, the bp has a better flowing head and can handle plenty of power if u do it right. If you run 15.9 in a turbo protege you are a ******* moron. Theres proteges na with a few mods running high 15's. A GTX should be able to get into high 13's low 14's and a GTR with mods should hit 12's. in stock trim the GTX is faster than the GTR the smaller turbo helped spool faster and produced power out of the hole. But with a few mods to the GTR it will romp most cars,...Jon

where are you guys getting your quarter mile times for the gtx, everywhere i've seen has times of 15.4 through 15.7, i added a little more time to compensate for the extra weight and lack of all wheel drive. i think 15.9 is a generous time.

i can get the engine for $875 @ a local performance shop, http://www.twistedperformance.com/engines1.html and i can get a turbo setup for less than $500 dollars because i can get a costume manifold for $300 and i can use my DSM buddy's old 16g turbo. And i can get it all installed for the price of $10 worth of McDonalds a day. (friend does engine swaps in spare time).

Knowing all this which is better, turbo lx or bpt swap?

and Usc and sweetpro93, what do your cars 1/8 and 1/4?
i really want to know.

Lack of all-wheel-drive?

Good luck trying to get it done that cheap. If you can, good for you. But you haven't considered everything.

Turbo LX is better by the way, better flowing head. Maybe you are thinking about the BF chassis GTX (late 80s)
