it's a goofy situation, you can never go wrong with changing your wires though. i had a terrible problem where no matter how much you floored it, the car refused to take off. once i took my foot off the accelerator, the rpms would drop, engine would knock a little and stall out. i literally had to rev the engine as i came to a complete stop and keep my foot on the gas to keep it from stalling out, and even so, it was a delay in acceleration... happened to me on 2 seperate incidents 5 months apart, turned out to be a leaky air hose the first time, and the mass air flow sensor the second time.
