Yeah, we got it off. We ended up taking turns with an impact wrench for 15 straight minutes the next day. Then, I jumped on it for a while and it cracked.

David is digitizing the rest of the videos for the clutch project, so those will be online shortly. I began taping the videos for the body work a few days ago, expect those within the next month.

Hello, all. I am "David", of Motorsport, as mentioned above. I don't actually own a Protege, but I can pretend.

I will digitize more of the videos shortly, once I get home from work.

Man that nut was a PITA...lol.... funny thing is the one on the other side came right off.

I ran into similar problems when I tried the first time to remove the nut. I had an 18" wrench, with a floor jack handle extension, with the car running (so there would be PB boost), someone standing on the pedal, car facing downhill. The result...I spun the tire. So, I went out and got a good 1/2" impact wrench (rated at 375 ft.lbs at 90 psi), turned up the compressor to 120 psi, and in less than 10 secs, it was off. Never had a problem since (I grease the spline, and anti-seize the axle nut). Have yet to find an axle nut that wouldn't come off (and I've done quite a few).
