i don't know....but Adam Payrot (member #8919) on www.miataforum.com is using a j-spec protege motor in his miata. you might try emailing him.
also i was thinking Braden at www.barelylegaltransplants.com might know as i thought he ordered a j-spec pro motor...???

cause i can get a j-spec bp alot cheaper and if i get the bpt i'm just gonna get rid of the stock turbo and put on the blt t3 kit

What's the difference? Depends on who you ask. Some people say that it has higher compression (9.5 vs 9.0/8.8), but I doubt it. Some say the cams are different. Again, I doubt it. I think the only differences are in timing and A/F ratios. The US Protege is tuned very conservatively, especially compared with Japanese and European versions, owing mostly to the varying and dismal quality of US gas.

Ask Braden about his tuning experience with his NA engine. I think he found as much HP as is missing between US and JDM engines (125 vs 130-135) just by playing with the spark and A/F ratios (mostly spark, IIRC).
