Engine rebuild on 93 pro lx

I'm a total noob at cars but my 93 pro lx has blown all the seals on it's engine. I figured I was going to do a rebuild myself (maybe with the help of a friend or two) this summer, is there a guide avaible to help me through this along with some simple modifications to increase power. I'm stuck in the middle of Alabama, so there's no speed shops anywhere around here. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. THXS!

are you sure the engine needs rebuilding??? is smoke coming out the exhaust? a good rebuild is NOT easy especially if you have no knowledge of engines.... but then again, you could learn a lot by doing it. IF i had the time AND tools, i'd prob do it myself...

as far as info try looking in 'garage' on www.miata.net

Chilton has guides for rebuilding everything, you can buy it at autozone for a 90-94 Protege and 323, and it'll tell you where everything is located in the car and how to fix or repair anything so hopefully this helps (they cost around 15 to 20 bucks)
